Ever since the durian season began, many stalls have been spotted selling really cheap durians.
Why cheap?

For those who don't know, it's simple economics. When the supply of durians is high, the price (value of it) will drop. So ya, because of the durian season, there are many many durians available, so prices are definitely low.

I am not a big fan of durians. I don't specially travel to Geylang and squat down at the roadside to savour that yellow fleshy thing. It's not that I hate durians. It's just that I don't like the strong smell that often penetrate through your clothes, your fridge, your food... So in the end, everyone smells like durian even after 100 sprays of perfume.

My family don't go to Geylang specially to have durians as well but my parents are big fans of durians.

They would not hesitate to wolf down nice durians if they have a chance and when it's convenient for them.

Then one fine day, my dad, lured by the cut-throat prices of durians (1 for $1!), bought a few home. My mummy would then take a bite from my dad's treasured box of cheap durians (he doesn't really share :P) and after eating them, complain about how watery (ie. LOUSY) the one particular durian was. The day after, he went out to buy a few more (maybe to prove that cheap durians are not equal to bad durians?).

Today, when I got home and opened the fridge, I smelt durian. I saw a big yogurt container and thought that Mummy bought another tub of yogurt to replace the one that we finished.
But lo and behold.... when I opened the lid, thinking that it was yummy Strawberry yogurt, what I saw were overwhelming durians!!!

At another compartment of the fridge, I spotted another container of durians! Whoa.

SIGH.

I resign already lah.

I think there will just be this one particular time during the year when my whole house will smell of durians.

I hope it won't last too long...
