I think this is a long overdue blog post about my girlfriend, Prisci's 22nd birthday.
She celebrated it at Udders, a nice little ice-cream shop at Thomson Road about three weeks ago. Even though udders is a mammary organ of a cow, Udders serves nothing to do with cow innards or mammary organs.
Interestingly, before Prisci came back from Oz and told us about her birthday, Char, Yue and I actually went to Udders to have a look one night, because I have heard reviews about it and wanted to sneak a peak.
And when she was back in Singapore, she chose that place to hold her party! It must be telepathy! So on a Sunday morning, we went for this brunch party. It was an ice-cream buffet. Basically, it's free flow ice-cream and everything drinkable!
Now here's the exterior of the ice-cream parlour. The two of them were so excited, holding on to the balloons. This was before all the guests came. We were very early!
Before the guests came in, with the balloons and make-up still fresh, I took a nice nice picture of her with my Panasonic LX3!
This is the first ice-cream waffle we had. Rum & Raisin and Tiramisu (the one dusted with cocoa powder). The ice-cream had such strong rum, I really thought I was going to be drunk. The tiramisu was strong too! I think they were too 'liquorish' that I couldn't taste the flavour at all.
Char, Yue and I didn't like them. We're non-alcoholics yea. But the waffle was a delight. With a slight crisp on the outside, the inside was subtlely sweet, fluffy and best of all, warm. Our next waffle came with Chocmarsh (chocolate with marshmallows) and Snickers Mars Honeycomb Vanilla. I have tasted better chocolate ice-cream elsewhere but the Snickers Mars one was great, especially when I sensed the Honeycomb's crunch in my mouth!
This is my favourite. I had Strawberry Fields and Cookies&Cream on a cone, all by myself! *claps* I love the strawberry one. It was creamy enough but it still retained the slight hint of strawberry sourness. I like sour stuff lah. The cookies and cream one was quite heavy in texture, which showed its quality. I like it as well!
This is me licking my ice-cream cone.
Yue had this cuppuccinno after ice-cream
Balloon sculpting can be fun with ice-cream, but not for Char. Haha
That's Prisci giving her birthday speech. It's almost like a wedding :P
After the party, when all the guests left, we took a parting shot outside Udders, with Prisci's hands full of gifts. She gave away all her balloons and kept this one small bunch. The balloons are really pretty eh?
Well, it has been a great party. The food was fun (ice-cream!) and the girls entertaining.
Most importantly, I am proud of say that Prisci made a very good speech towards the end of her party, thanking everyone. It was touching. Prisci, I'm sure your mummy is proud of you, not only because you are going to pursue your Masters now, but from the moment she saw you as a baby. (:
Bon voyage for now... and till November, we'll see each other again!
