Food Rendezvous
While chomping 22 Din Tai Fung xiaolongbaos (Yes, twenty two of them altogether! We know how to eat, unlike Victoria Beckham, that skeletal wife of Beckham's) with Yue, shocking revelations and scandals were exposed.
At last, I can meet yue for a quick catch-up :) She's so busy at NUS, with tons of papers to complete! NTU's pace seems so relaxed! I only have 2 more major assignments to complete but she has 5 more!
We ate and ate, and even had to resort to scissors-paper-stone to finish the last XLB. Hoho!

My favourite conversation of the day:
Me: I haven't been seeing you in Friendster for quite a while.
Yue: I don't even have time to shit, how to go Friendster?
HAHAHA.

Right after that, we rolled over (i used "rolled" cos we were very full and i felt like a lump of minced pork) to The Naked Fish Shoppe for chocolate fondue!! MmmMm. The last fondue i had with Yue was at Max Brenner and it was horrid! Lousy!
But this, ahhhh. Heavenly. I get brownies, strawberries, kiwi, bananas, marshmallows and ice-cream puffs to dip with. The smooth, melted chocolate is decadent but I was enjoying myself too much to even bother. Thank you Yue for this birthday treat!
On our way home, I felt like chocolate minced pork.

Today, let's analyse the connotations of names. In other words, what qualities do these names exude?
1) Alex - the world's worst male name. Ever. Certified by Sihui, sarah and I. It connotes extreme desperation and disgust.
2) George - an old guy with a beautiful wife.
3) Elizabeth - a lady with proper upbringing.
4) Lulu - a bar-girl
5) Eugene - A hardworking geek.
6) Patrick - Spongebob

Goodbye and goodnight.
Inuyasha later and Senggarang tomorrow!

This entry, I'll let my pictures do the talking :)

EATING TIME!!

The unfortunate event: The forfeit

Fries, Joseph and Hannah :) My favourites

After much persuasion, Joseph smiled! But Dawn is too engrossed with the fries!

Little joseph: Pls don't take away my fries!

My yesterdays are all boxed up and neatly put away

But every now and then you come to mind

Cause you were always waiting to be picked to play the game

But when your name was called, you found a place to hide

When you knew that I was always on your side

"Always on your side" - Sheryl Crow & Sting

AHEM! Disclaimer: I am not love-sick. It just happens to be my favourite music at this moment.

LALALALA.
A Russian fairytale
Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Singapore, there lived a little girl named Esther who enjoys her weekly walks at the Esplanade waterfront. Then one day, a evil haze named Hondababooseng attacked Singapore. It ate Esther up with a loud crunch. Thus, Esther never took her walks again.
The end.

That was a scary fairytale for the Russian kids, isn't it?
The haze in Singapore is even scarier.

Mission Trip to Senggarang this Sat!
Yay! I am so glad because I am going to Senggarang. Finally. After pushing it off for so long, I told myself i have to go this time round no matter what cos Nov's the last trip and I can't make it for that.
Our good Lord is wonderful. He opened the paths for me when I put my heart into going for this trip.
First of all, my assignment deadline has been pushed to 7 Nov, which makes my schedule not too tight since I am going to be back in S'pore on 29th Oct. The original deadline was 1 Nov.
Also, the 40 bucks needed for this trip has been paid by Aunty Yu Lian! :) :) :) She assured me that it is God's grace. Jehovah Jireh is my Providence!

I got myself a great deal. whee!
I have a new phone new phone new phone. Price tag's not a killer but the features are FANTABULOUS. And I am now hooked on the car game that comes with it! It is like Daytona in the phone, without the steering wheel and gear. But who cares?! The game is 3D so it looks pretty real. I am hooked!
Hooked on the integrated camera too! Urgh.
New found fetishes are so addictive.
Oh and I just found out today in Crystal Jade, to my ultimate amazement, that my phone actually has a SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR! WHOA. I am so proud of my phone! :)

Death Note
The Japanese are mad geniuses! Whoever drew/wrote Death Note is a genius! Tian1 Cai2! Marvel! *applause* *standing ovation*
It is intelligently-scripted and well casted. The fantasy plot is intriguing and forces the audience to think about Power and Justice. How would one wield Power? Would you treat it responsibly? Who decides what is Justice? Oooh.
"L" is such beguiling personality and after a while, I realise he does look good despite the slouch and effeminate, childish actions.
This Japanese movie is definitely not a run in the mill.
Catch it if you can.

On Sunday
I painted 1/8 of my front door :) The thinner was stinging to my eyes but I did it anyway. Yay! Esther Chang, the domestic idiot did it!
I am not joking... but I can't do household chores for nuts.
When I clean up our bedroom, it will still look like how I first begun. When Sarah cleans it, PHWOAR, it will be tremendously sparkling neat! Sigh.
Somebody "domesticate" me please.

I had a good good laugh last night looking at the videos of Renewal Idol and the Zaccheus skits on YouTube. Thanks Yihao for uploading them!
I say our youths are daring. I see future actresses and actors already. Sarah and shumin's Renewal Idol was a hoot too! The both of them - ahhh. drama mamas. Love the kissing of the hand scene!
I had to stifle my loud guffawing when I viewed it in the school library today. It was HARD!
To watch it, go to YouTube and search for Renewal Idol.

I want food again!
My appetite is back again and I am craving for Northern Indian food. ooooohhh. *wipes saliva* Hyatt's Straits Kitchen has a Northern Indian food section! heh heh. I want...

Valentin
I caught Valentin, an Argentine movie on Arts Central last night. Set in 1969, the story is told through a little 8 years old boy, Valentin who lives with his cheerless grandmother and has big dreams to join NASA as an astronaut. His philandering father cares not about him but only girlfriend-seeking while his mother has been absent in his life since he was very young. Though he lacks real familial love, he manages to love others, and find the affection he always crave for from his neighbour and one of his father's ex-girlfriends, all by himself.
It is very moving. The boy is oddly adorable with his thick glasses.
I have something for movies that feature very sensible children who find wonders in the painful world they live in.

If you are thinking of watching some good foreign films, watch these:
Life is Beautiful (forgot the italian title for it) and Les Choristes.

Haze Haze go away!
The haze is getting worse. It was especially bad on my way to school. When I got down from my bus, the haze irritated my eyes so much that i teared. Worse still, i kept imagining myself with swollen, red eyes. URGH.
Haze haze go away!!

Now I know why I always get cold feets
I was about to get my "No Chicken" award today from Red Cross NTU for donating my blood for the 1st time but man oh man oh man...
I can't cos I have low blood pressure! My heart doesn't beat fast enough to keep me warm. The doc was afraid I would faint while donating my blood. HAHA.
Actually I want to feel how is it like to faint.
It'll be pretty interesting!

Ominous October
Deadlines deadlines deadlines for all modules. All in the month of October. All essays have to be a few pages long. Dreadful.
It's that time again!!!
I feel like puking.
And what am I doing here? Rattling off for no reason...
sigh sigh sigh.
Jehovah Shalom- Lord, my peace.

The Return of the Bubble Tea
It is back with vengeance! Armed with many deceivingly teenage-friendly flavours and thousands of unhealthy calories, bubble tea shops are taking the neighbourhood by storm! Unfortunately, I am one of their victims.
As I see, the bubble tea business winning the battle. Now let's see how long it can last... Let's see how long it takes to become history again, like RotiBoy.

The pearls in the bubble tea get pretty disgusting after a while - makes me want to puke.

Ok, everything is turning my tummy upside down!

Esther and the Smelly Chocolate Factory
I am getting increasingly impatient with the chocolate/cocoa factory in Boon Lay (yes dears, there is a chocolate factory near NTU).
Do you remember? In Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", Charlie likes to take deep breaths near the chocolate factory and immerse himself in the wonderful smells of Willy Wonka's chocolates every morning. When I was 10, I fantasized about staying near a chocolate factory, enjoying the smells like Charlie did.
That chocolate/cocoa factory in Boon Lay shredded my dream into pieces.
It stinks!
I am haunted by the whiff of it, every school-going day. If I am fortunate, it smells like heavy, stale chocolate. In some bad days, it smells like rojak and sometimes, Bovril.
Gross. How can chocolate/cocoa smell like that?!!

Inuyasha rawks - i think i sound a little like a twit. But who cares?
If you are not an anime fan, Inuyasha will convert you into one.
It is beginning to get more and more exciting!! Shippo is my favourite character! He is EXTREMELY adorable (esp in one episode when he was licking his spinning lollipop)! The rest of the crew have their own quirks that make every episode enthralling. The enemies (big demons, evil spirits, bad humans) are incredibly frightening, making the whole show more gripping!
YOU SHOULD WATCH!

If someone buys the VCD for me, I would be very pleased. Watching it on Arts Central becomes frustrating when they always end with cliffhangers.
Boo!

Now you know what my inner feelings are.
haha!

Today I shall talk about school
schoolschoollschoolboringschoolschoolschoolstressfulschool
schoolmustdowellschoolschoolschoolbattlegroundschool

schoolschoolschoolexams!schoolschoolschool.

I prioritise.
It is time to get my butts up and do something!
GIVE TUITION. I DON'T WANT TO RELY ON MOM FOR ALLOWANCE ANYMORE because my NTU friends aren't.
PRACTISE MY IMMOBILE LEFT HAND ON THE PIANO because I want to play well for God's glory.

The Media screams FEAR
Do you know? On the NEL, there is this little screen that plays a video of the possibility of a terrorist attack in trains. It is one heck of a drama that keeps many people, including Sarah and the 57-year-old ah pek, riveted on the tiny screen. Pictures of mangled bodies in the Mumbai train blast are unashamedly flashed on the screens. Then, they will start to explain to you how to report an unattended bag on the train, which I observed very carefully. Well, just in case!

While watching Crimewatch on TV, I realised that there was a rape case near my house!
All these things disturbed me greatly and made me unnecessarily afraid. After the show, i started to think of items I can bring as "weapons" in case I have to go home late.
Pepper spray? No? Satay Stick?

But it dawned on me. Why should I need all these?
I have a God greater than all these. He is my protection and comfort. How silly to be afraid!!

Ok bye!

American Advocate
After talking to SJ on msn, i officially announce that Consumerism is spelled S.U.A.N.J.I.N!
He talks about buying more and more things (esp. Apple products) with so much zest that I believe he is either in cahoots with the American economy or a major investor of the Apple empire.
Exasperating!

Children's Day in church
My church's Sunday school really did a great job in leading the worship, dancing and playing the music in the main sanctuary. The children are all very young yet they did it like experienced professionals!
The toddlers were adorably hilarious. When they all trooped to the stage for the performance, many started to dig their noses intensely. When i say intensely, i mean INTENSELY man.
They digged like nobody's business. Nontheless, though disgusted, I am very much amused. Well, let's just say i am very forgiving towards children who are merely 1 to 3 years old.
Anyway, everyone should see the number of young children we have in our church! They filled up the whole stage and even spilled to the sides.
Angie said we should take a picture of that and send it to PM Lee. He would be so proud of us! To that, i second it. Haha!

What to expect from here
