end of year 2, semester one
exams are over(!!!!) = freeeeeeeeedommmmmm!!!
no more poring over endless readings!
full speed ahead for our teens overseas trip on 10 December! i thank God for an incredibly supportive team :) heard from sarah our dear isaac is a hidden talent in acting!
post-exam celebration - i'm enchanted!
so to celebrate, my uni chums and i headed down to town for the much-anticipated movie "enchanted" and a yummy lunch at xin wang hk cafe, and loads of shopping.
"enchanted" didn't disappoint - "i've been dreaming of a true love's kiss"~
love the 2D animations in the beginning of the show because it made me reminiscent of my childhood. 2D movies like, aladdin (it was my FIRST ever movie - i remember sarah sat on my mom's lap beside me), the little mermaid, the lion king were etched in my mind. i had vague but wonderful memories of them.
so when i saw the beginning of the show, a strange sense of pride welled up in me.
yep, pride.
i was so proud that the scene was familiar to me.
it made me special.
it was typically walt disney, so beauty and the beast.

haha i am a big softie for happily ever after fairytales lah.

monday's destiny photoshoot
i am involved in a music outreach project by anne and job called DESTINY. on that day to shoot our publicity photo, i felt like a star.
with make-up done by a mediacorp make-up artist (she was teacher anne's ex-student) and a professional photographer shooting you - wouldn't you feel like one?
check out www.gabrielmendes.com/destiny for an incredible slideshow on destiny. turn up your volume for the music!

hello humanity.
taaa daaaa i am baccckkk!

i have been refraining myself from coming online. you know how much temptation the world wide web can bring. well, to start off, there's facebook, youtube, blog surfing... i will just waste time on all these and neglect my revision. that's why, amazingly, i stayed off and succeeded!
and that explains why i haven't been blogging.
i am left with one more paper next week and i'll be free!

to say the truth, this is my most stressful revision for exam ever. i want to work harder because i have been performing under expectations for my all my assignments and a few mid-term tests this semester. if i don't buck up, bye bye first class/second upper honours.

if we want something, we must aim for the best, isn't it?
but i am so glad i'm 5/6 done with my papers ;) amazing grace.

must-watch tv
despite my exams, i didn't miss out HEROES on channel 5.
it's the best drama ever, unless something better comes along. but that will be difficult because HEROES has already set the standard.
it's like x-men on tv, in a series, sans mutant costumes.
it's my comic book on tv.
can i have the first season? it's already out on dvd/vcd!

i get all tingly with excitement when i see their official show title image! aahhh.

happy happy sunday ;D
when i say happy, i mean happy, elated, satisfied, pleased, exuberant, jubilant... ok i've exhausted my mental thesaurus.
but yes, you get the gist.
it was an excellent day.

why? why you ask?

#1 teens overseas camp - survivor: hutan melintang
i had a talk with hui ling this morning about the problems i faced while communicating with my malaysian counterparts. there were too many physical limitations that i felt so discouraged last night. but huiling advised me on how to solve the problems and discussed the ways on how to approach them. after talking with her, i feel more confident in negotiating the terms now.
PLUS, we (chuan, raymond and i) managed to get a pretty good deal at golden mile complex this afternoon for a chartered bus to travel to sungei besar (our camp destination). after comparing prices at all the travel agencies within the complex, the deal was reasonable. yay!

#2 our professional fun photoshoot in church
there's a professional wedding photog in our church and we had a talk with him about his photography. after our meeting, he spontaneously got me and chuan to be his "models" and i tell you, the both of us had so much fun! we did all the silliest poses.
we shook our heads madly, squinted our eyes, stuck our tongues out, acted fierce, jumped... just for him to capture our youthful vigour. yes we are young!
here's a peek at our gorgeous pictures

absolutely fab aren't they?
his photography skills+colourfully-dressed, lovely girls = beautiful pictures

i'm so inspired to be a photographer now! being a professional photographer is my new dream...

#3 good food, good company
at the end of the day, a few of us had dinner together at marina square. yummy azabu sabo ice-cream rounded up my best sunday.
good desserts always work for me.

i thank my good Lord for this day.

hola!
i am back, breathing well - after my tight deadlines are over.
one more essay due next friday but i'll have time to do research over the weekend, so it shouldn't be a problem.
anyhoos, exams are creeping in like a cockroach. getting a bit nervy but i will not let it affect me.
to quote weiying's msn nickname, "worrying about today will rob you of tomorrow", so i'll do my best in my revision and God will do the rest!

spice girls
i was secretly happy that spice girls are reuniting. fine, slam them all you want but they were part of my starstruck childhood and they were the coolest girl band. i could remember buying pricey magazines just to cut out pictures of them and put them in my scrapbook, buying their cassette tape and dancing to "wannabe" with angie and sarah in front of a full-length mirror.
surprisingly, i can still remember their lyrics to their hits (and realise the lyrics are plain nonsensical but who cares?)

of course, who could forget backstreet boys. those karaoke sessions of bsb's sappy love songs ("as long as you love me" was the best) at angie's house with my primary school friends...
oh yes! and michael learns to rock. ha! "paint my love" and "wild woman". goodness i can't believe that after ten years, i can still recall ALL THESE.

boy am i glad spice girls are reunitng because somehow, they are representative of how much i have grown. brings back the good old memories of my "tweenhood".

10 years later, i've explored, moved on to other genres and found solace in the music of john mayer, corrinne may, norah jones and u2.

but deep down, spice girls will always be my music first love :P
